Hello and Happy New Year!                                                               President’s Message January 13, 2025

As we begin a new year, we stand united in our commitment to the future of all children. The road ahead is filled with challenges, but it is also filled with opportunity. We have much work to do, especially when it comes to ensuring that every student, no matter where they come from or what their circumstances may be, has the resources and support they need to succeed. We have lots of opportunities to speak with lawmakers to provide the funds that our schools need to not only survive but to provide the funds necessary to make every child’s potential a reality. In the months ahead, we will continue to advocate for policies that promote equity and access in education. It is our duty to invest in the next generation, ensuring that every student can grow, learn, and achieve their full potential.

Next week Wisconsin PTA board members will be participating in the 2025 Wisconsin State Education Convention in downtown Milwaukee on January 23rd and 24th. Stop by our table and say, “Hi!”

In February, celebrate Safer Internet Day on February 11, Take Your Family to School Week February 17 – 21, and Public Schools Week February 24 – 28. Also in February, Wauwatosa Council of PTAs, Inc. and West Allis-West Milwaukee PTA Council will host Founders Day events celebrating the Founders of PTA—Alice McLellan Birney, Phoebe Apperson Hearst, and Selena Sloan Butler. March 4 – 6 is National PTA’s 2025 Virtual Legislative Conference (LegCon)!  The conference is virtual and has great opportunities to learn and grow your advocacy reach.
